This workshop is intended for parents and professionals new to the arena of sensory integration and sensory processing. Topics covered will include discussing our 8 senses, sensory regulation, sensorimotor skills, and how a child’s motor, social, and behavioral development are impacted by their sensory integration development. There will be opportunities for questions and sharing of experiences throughout the presentation.
After attending this online workshop, attendees will be able to:
- Have a better understand the children that we work with and care about through an understanding of how our sensory systems impact development, behavior, and functioning.
- Advocate for your child's needs with other caregivers by learning the common signs and symptoms of sensory integration disorders, and how all 8 senses are involved.
- Improve your relationships with children by recognizing and understanding both sensory regulation and sensorimotor disorders.
