International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI)

Description

This course focuses on the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI) and the implementation of therapeutic diets for medically complex infants and toddlers with swallowing difficulties. The course reviews the background of the protocol and importance of following these methods to support swallowing safety for fragile feeders. The course highlights the IDDSI framework and how each stage could be beneficial based on a child's feeding skills. Additionally, this interactive course allows participants to watch testing methods, visualize meal trays, and taste thickened liquids, in order to better understand the impact on the fragile feeders we serve.
