| Description |
This professional development session is designed for therapists working with young children who present with feeding concerns beginning around age one. The training will provide a comprehensive overview of the assessment and treatment process for pediatric feeding difficulties, emphasizing both motor and sensory aspects of feeding development.
Participants will learn how to identify key components of an effective feeding assessment, including clinical observations, parent input, and standardized tools that support accurate diagnosis and individualized treatment planning. The session will address common concerns parents bring to therapy and provide practical strategies for collaboration and education.
The course will also outline evidence-based intervention strategies to support children who struggle with chewing, transitioning from purees to solids, and accepting new textures and tastes. Practical, play-based activities and therapy ideas will be shared to promote progress in both sensory and oral-motor skills. A portion of the session will be dedicated to group discussion and case-based Q&A.
