Best Practice in Early Detection and process for SRAL Early Motor Development Clinic referrals.

Description

Recent evidence has proven that Cerebral Palsy can be accurately diagnosed in children as young as 6 months old with a high rate of accuracy and certainty. It is imperative that children who are considered at risk for CP based on their medical history and/or their movement patterns be diagnosed as soon as possible in order to take advantage of the benefits of early therapy on the developing brain. This training will discuss some of the testing tools available for early detection as well as how to refer a typical EI family to the early motor development clinic at SRAL if the provider feels the child should be assessed for CP.
