Description |
Stress and trauma are pervasive in the world. The way that providers and families navigate interpersonal and systemic trauma has direct implications on developmental outcomes of infants who are deaf or hard of hearing. During this presentation we will:
• explore types of trauma, responses to trauma, and what it means to be a Trauma Informed System
• identify potential trauma symptoms and how they influence the transition to parenthood and the parent and child’s newly forming relationship
• touch on neurobiology and its applications to tracking stress and trauma in providers, as well as in families.
