Zones of Regulation for Parents

Description

This webinar focuses on how parents can use the Zones of Regulation to help their children regulate their emotions at home. Self-Regulation is the ability to adjust your level of alertness and direct how emotions are revealed behaviorally in order to achieve goals, meet demands, and support your well-being. Self-regulation is an important part of a child’s development. A person who can self-regulate can remain calm in stressful situations, cheer themselves up after a disappointment, know when they are experiencing sensory overload and adjust, and understand when it’s appropriate to cheer and when to be quiet. Zones of Regulation teaches your child coping strategies so they can help themselves when they become stressed, anxious or sad. The Zones of Regulation teaches healthy coping and regulation strategies across all settings. In this webinar, you will learn the Goals of Zones of regulation and how to implement the Zones of Regulation in your home. With these strategies, you and your child will have increased awareness of how to identify and manage their emotions in their daily lives.
