The purpose of this training is to bring awareness to the constructs of Ayres Sensory Integration (ASI) and the theory that can guide clinicians to assess, problem solve, and utilize effective interventions for children. Children often come into early intervention services with different strengths, challenges,
and medical complexities. The Ayres Process is intended to support clinicians to identify strengths and challenges, utilize effective assessment tools aimed to understand the problems, and integrate intervention strategies to address the problems. By looking at underlying sensory integration factors that are interfering with function and utilizing evidence-based practice, therapists will gain an overview of basic knowledge to be able to individually tailor sensorimotor activities through the context of play to obtain positive outcome measures.
