Three Day Early Intervention Core Autism Training

Description

This 3 Day Core Autism Training (October 4th, October 5th, and October 10th) will teach providers about autism and how to work with these children or children with some characteristics of autism. Training will benefit all early intervention providers and staff.
Training will cover 6 topics over 3 days including Diagnostics and Treatment, Working with Parents, Teaching Communication, Sensory Issues, Behavior Management, and Using Visual Systems. Training will be very interactive using lecture, video, discussion, and practice. Training focus will be:

-Understanding the new diagnostic criteria and helpful treatment strategies.
-How to work with families who are struggling with the diagnosis and dealing with grief issues.
-Teaching children to communicate along with how to effectively use pictures in therapy.
-Understanding sensory issues and treatment strategies that work and help regulate children.
-Understanding how to use behavior management to deal with behavior problems and to teach new skills using discrete trial.
- Learn how to use visual systems to structure sessions, help with transition, communication, regulation, and behavior.

All participants will receive the Mini Book of Visual Systems and 2 training videos.
Participants must sign up for all 3 days of the training.
