Description |
Unidentified vision problems can unknowingly affect self-care, mobility, reading, writing, and occupational choices. Early identification of vision deficits, both perceptual and functional is critical to a comprehensive rehab treatment plan. Vision deficits may be developmental in nature or acquired due to neurological damage. Incorporation of an understanding of how vision affects function will enhance treatment and improve outcomes for clients. You will learn how functional visual skills form the basis for learning the vision screening tool. You will also learn how focusing, tracking, depth perception and binocular coordination can be affected by neurological and developmental deficits and how to modify the treatment plan appropriately.
