Principles of Practice in Early Intervention for Toddlers with Autism Spectrum Disorders

Description

Take advantage of this great opportunity to learn about intervention for toddlers with early signs of autism spectrum disorders (ASD). This webinar introduces principles of early intervention addressed in Part C policy and DEC Recommended Practices as they relate to toddlers with ASD and their families. Additional topics include understanding and using family-centered practices, focusing intervention on social communication at the preverbal level, promoting learning through family and child participation and play, and addressing family outcomes. Video examples illustrate family involvement and toddler engagement in social communication.

And there's more! Participants receive supplementary resources on early intervention principles, resources to apply in practice (e.g., forms, checklists) to support family engagement and parent-child interaction, and content on preverbal social communication.
