Healthy Families America Core Training: Family Assessment Workers

Description

This training prepares all new HFI family assessment workers and supervisors to use the Kempe Family Stress Checklist during home visits.

Healthy Families America Core Training Family Assessment Track is designed for direct service family assessment workers and supervisors from Healthy Families Illinois Programs. The training is a basic orientation to the philosophy, underlying theory and practice, goals, and implementation strategies used in the Healthy Families Illinois programs. This track focuses on learning the use of the Kempe Family Stress Checklist to assess each family’s risk and needs to then direct the family to the necessary services, including Healthy Families Illinois
programs. Certification as a Family Assessment Worker requires the completion of a mentoring process, which includes the submission of completed sample assessments within three-months of the training event. Assessments are reviewed for accurate documentation methods, accurate scoring and reliability.
