Description |
Ms. Gruttadaro will speak about the results of a national survey focused on the experiences of families with a child with a mental illness in primary care. She will cover the growing national focus on integrated mental health and pediatric primary care both as part of health care reform, and out of necessity because of the critical shortage of children’s mental health providers. Darcy will cover existing integrated care models that are producing positive results for children and families across the country. The early identification of emerging mental illness is key to help improve the long-term outcomes for children and youth living with mental illness. Ms. Gruttadaro will cover the critical need to link children, youth and families with effective services and supports in all systems designed to meet their needs.
