Description

The DVD by Michelle Garcia Winner, MS, CCC-SLP, "Growing Up Social: Exploring How Social Communication Develops.. and Strategies to Help!" will be shown. This DVD looks at how social thinking supports the development of social skills from the first year of life, influencing language development and academic success, as well as skills for adult living. Social thinking concepts and strategies are introduced to support your (and/or your staff's) teaching across the home and school day, including an exploration of how we organize our communicative interactions and utilize active perspective-taking throughout each day.
Participants will learn about new advances in augmentative communication. Participants will use the devices to learn how the devices could benefit all clients. Participants will be able to state apps for ipad which could be used for clients to improved communication skills.
