Description

Navigating the world of seeking professional therapy for children can be confusing, slow, and quite honestly, frustrating. Parents and professionals both encounter barriers in getting children the help they need. This presentation aims to de-mystify the process of seeking out treatment- walking participants through the process step-by-step. Learn the warning signs to watch for. Participants will also have the opportunity to discover what to expect during the first session with a therapist. Therapy for children can take many different avenues, including incorporating play into therapy. Presenters will display several specific examples of therapeutic activities, along with the science behind them. Participants will be given the opportunity to discuss examples of children who have been displaying concerning behaviors by applying principles learned.
