Understanding Anxiety in Infants and Young Children

Description

There are a growing number of children exhibiting anxiety at younger and younger ages. Participants in this workgroup will learn: about the growing trend of anxiety symptoms in infants and young children, identify typical anxiety in development, why anxiety is important for a child’s social emotional development, and common childhood diagnoses. A brief review of treatment approaches and strategies to ease the child and family’s anxiety will also be discussed. This session is best suited for parents and providers with a beginner’s level knowledge of anxiety.
