Description |
This workshop is tailored to service providers working in Early Intervention who work with Spanish-English bilingual families. Information and resources will be provided on:
a.) the similarities and differences in phonological development between bilingual and monolingual children
b.) possible cultural & socioeconomic factors which can affect treatment efficacy when working with Spanish-speaking families
c.) working with interpreters
Case studies will be discussed in order to help participants get practice on reflecting on the aforementioned areas to guide treatment focus. Specific songs & activities for working with Spanish-speaking families will also be provided.
