DIR/Floortime

Description

This workshop will provide attendees with both conceptual and practical understandings of the assessment and treatment of children with interactive disorder, regulatory challenges and developmental delays through the developmental relational technique know as DIR Floortime. Dr. Hess will share a functional framework that helps a child learn how to attend and remain calm, relate to others, initiate and respond to all types of communication. You will identify various problem soving exercises that involve a team approach. Adaptations of play techniques utilizing Dr. Stanley Greenspan's DIR Floortime Model will be examined for use with these individual children as they emphasize the cirtical role of parents and other family members.
