Training for Transition from Early Intervention to Early Childhood Special Education Services

Description This collaborative statewide training has been developed to train early childhood and early intervention staff, administrators and parents about the state and federal requirement of transition from early intervention (Part C) to early childhood special education services (Part B). This training will assist EI and school districts in meeting the obligation of IDEA to provide a smooth and effective transition for children and their families from EI to school district services. Topics discussed include: evaluation and eligibility; transition meetings and responsibilities; timelines; best practice recommendation; and new state forms.

This training is offered in collaboration with the Illinois State Board of Education, the Bureau of Early Intervention, Early Intervention Training Program and Child Find.
