What Do You Want From Me? Using Observation to Respond to Infant and Toddler Behavior

Description

How do infants tell us what they want? What's behind a toddler's tantrum? Before they are able to communicate through language, infants, and toddlers communicate through their behavior, relying on our abilities to decode the messages they send. This session addresses young children's behavior by looking at their age and stage of development, their significant relationships, and environmental factors that influence actions. You'll learn a framework for observing and learning about children's patterns and characteristics, how to interpret behaviors and how to respond in supportive and nurturing ways that facilitate healthy development.
