6th Annual Empowering Professionals Conference: Tools of the Trade

Description Pre-registration is required for this one-day conference featuring a keynote presentation by Kathie Snow, wife and mother, as well as author, public speaker, trainer, consultant, and host of the "Disability Is Natural" website.
The keynote presentation titled, "Disability is Natural and Other Revolutionary Common Sense", explores how disability, like gender, ethnicity, and other traits, is one of many natural characteristics of being human. What can happen when we deconstruct disability, use People First Language, focus on a child's strengths and abilities, and embrace practices that general successful life-long outcomes? Our attitudes drive our actions and awesome change is possible when we think and talk differently.
There will also be a choice of afternoon breakout sessions and an opportunity to explore poster sessions.
