Course Objectives for Session One:
Upon completion, the experienced clinician/educator will be better able to:
• Explain the importance of an evidence-informed approach in the pediatric evaluation
• Identify the GMFCS Levels and be able to describe the predicted motor outcomes for each level.
• List the key positioning requirements considered for young children.
• Discuss the relationship between seating/postioning and activity/participation using an ICF (International Classification of Function) framework
• Know how to use the web to write letters of medical necessity in 15 minutes or less
Course objectives of Session Two:
• Participants will be able to describe two benefits of mobility to very young children.
• Participants will be able to implement the scheduled training program.
• Participants will be able to measure the success of each power mobility training session by using a precise outcomes measure.
• Participants will have a specific algorithm for increasing the degree of difficulty of learning to drive.
