Developmental Assessment: Interpretation of results and linking information gathered through meaningful assessment to a child's plan of intervention.

Description

This training session will review the definition of developmental assessment and to role it plays in early intervention. Program objectives for training will focus on factors, both environmental and biological, that influence a child's performance on developmental testing and highlight how meaningful assessment holds the key to writing and developing outcomes that are both functional, meaningful to the family and strength based. The clinician's ability to link information gathered through meaningful assessments in the development of functional outcomes will reflect a comprehensive, integrated understanding of how the child learns as part of his or her family unit, larger community and culture.
