#360 Pediatric Gait: Intervention Strategies to Optimize Alignment

Description

This course will focus on the assessment of pediatric gait, lower extremity alignment issue and the use of strapping to assist in improving alignment for gait and function. The course will include a basic review of trunk and lower extremity biomechanics in children, as well as components required for normal gait. Descriptions and causes of gait deviations and alignment issues will be discussed. Specific intervention suggestions will include addressing muscle imbalances, and facilitation of improved alignment using wraps and straps. Videotapes with patients will be used to hone problem-solving skills.
