#7359 Vision Rehabilitation and Neuroplasticity Techniques For Success In a 3-D World

Description

Just two years ago, I talked with an Optometrist and was discussing misalignment of eyes, nystagmus and high and tone. He stated he did not realize there was a treatment for nystagmus and was very interested. This course will assist therapists to work with children with these problems with minimal equipment and teach the program to their caregivers for daily practice. This course will give hope to children and may not need eye surgery. Attendees will be able to describe vision development and connectivity in the central nervous system. We will review visual, auditory, and vestibular systems in order to identify deficits and available pathways for reconnection. Attendees will be able to evaluate conditions including nystagmus, cortical vision impairment, torticollis, and strabismus and how they affect motor skills. Attendees will apply neuroplasticity treatments to enhance visual and motor function. Course instruction method includes: Lecture, Demonstration, Videos, Pictures, Case Studies and Question/Answers
