Outline
• Review of the objectives of Tots 1 & 2 and the concepts of contralateral lengthening, structural balance as the foundation for motor control, 3 dimensional motions and task analysis
• Learn how to refine clinical observation skills to identify restrictions that correlate with specific functional limitations to use Patient Profile in more detail.
• Review, Demonstrate and Practice finding Functional Issues on partners
• Learn to more precisely describe restriction (limitation in body structure and function)
• Learn the Triad of choices for application of intervention - The most functional, the most active, the most compatible with head position in space,
• Review the variables to enhance releases
• Explore more Optional motions to apply the Triad of choices
• Participants will have opportunities to practice Therapeutic Positions, Releases, and Play
• Learn more creative Therapeutic Play skills
• Explore how to apply Therapeutic TMR motions in community activities (hippo-therapy, aqua therapy, dance, sports)
• Learn how to analyze challenging cases with multiple combinations of restrictions or alternating patterns of restrictions.
• Discuss/ brainstorm your most challenging case with participants and instructor
• Observe and discuss advanced TMR techniques and how to apply to multiple challenging demonstration session with patients.
• Review Flow and importance of using more complete, energizing motion
• Learn enhanced observation skills to assess component movements
• Learn to describe the relationship between small restrictions in motion and functional limitations elsewhere in the body
• Enhance an understanding of the implications of immobilization on future developmental milestones
• Review arousal level and discuss how regulation impacts successful TMR application
• Review dialogue techniques and discuss how to manage challenges in transferring skills to caregivers
• Review the importance of weight bearing, and post treatment organization
