Augmentative-Alternative Communication

Description

This program introduces augmentative-alternative communication (AAC) to a variety of clinical professionals. First, the AAC evaluation process is presented, including a review of the person-centered framework, the key members involved as well as a timeline for services. Next, a variety of AAC implementation strategies and their foundations are described within the context of both high- and low-tech systems. Finally, participants practice what they’ve learned through hands-on, guided activities to gain practical knowledge as well as hone their critical thinking skills.
