Description |
In this interactive, coaching workshop we will practice listening for family priorities, challenges, and strengths. There will be a specific focus on how to listen for and observe strengths in any family, as well as how to provide feedback which will build rapport and confidence. Both structured interviews and casual fluid conversation with caregivers are opportunities for providers to build connection and resilience. Learning to do this well, takes accurate interpretation of what is being 'heard'. It also requires knowledge of how the language we use can impact a family's perception of their own resilience and potential. Please note: there will be breakout groups of people in pairs where coaching skills will be practiced. This will give all participants an opportunity to experience and practice coaching strategies. Please be prepared to share your own experiences with a colleague.
