Illinois Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing 59th Annual Conference: Parent Panel - Reflections of choices, decisions and their outcomes

Description

The facilitated panel of parents will be asked to reflect on their journey of raising a child who is deaf/hard of hearing. After sharing a short summary of their child’s diagnosis and timeline the panelists will be asked additional questions to recall key moments in their journey, the choices that they were presented with, what helped them come to a decision and then the outcome from their choices. Attendees will gain insight on what helped the panelists along their journeys and can utilize these reflections for advice and resources for the families they serve.
