This is a monthly session during which providers, already enrolled in the RISE Research Study, meet to (a) engage in discussions about clinical applications of a recently published research article, and (b) discuss study-related activities for families on their Part C caseloads. - (a) During the research article review, a study staff member with clinical research experience will present on a peer-reviewed research article published in the last 12 months, that has clinical utility for Part C providers across professional disciplines. Research articles may include topics such as family-centered care practices, cross-discipline team collaboration, and understanding early signs of autism. Following a brief 15-minute article presentation (including explanation of research questions, how and where the study took place, and main study findings), the presenter will engage providers in group discussion about how study questions and findings relate to their own practices, and about their own clinical takeaways from the study. - (b) During the study-related portion of each session, RISE study staff will provide support around recruiting eligible families on their caseloads into RISE, an ongoing study for Part C providers and families of children with social communication delays and/or early signs of autism spectrum disorder. In addition, study staff will engage providers in conversations about families’ participation and retention in the RISE Study.
