Anxious Annie and Stressed Out Sergio: Recognizing and Supporting Young Children Experiencing Worry and Anxiety

Description

Researchers recently found a significant increase in anxiety in children nationwide. This workshop will prepare you to support young children experiencing worry and anxiety. We will explore signs and symptoms to look for (prenatal-5 years), when to refer, how to incorporate anxiety-related goals into IEPs or 504 plans, and, most importantly, what caring early childhood professionals must do to actively support these children. Environmental, relational, instructional, relaxation and social skills strategies will all be presented and practiced preparing you to meet young children’s current mental health needs.
