Description |
Sleep is a necessary need for children to grow and develop. Without sleep, children will not have the regulation, energy, or opportunity to explore their surroundings and create relationships with their caregivers. Through this training, we will provide education on sleep science to help clinicians develop a more vital understanding of ways to develop healthy sleep habits for the families that they serve. In addition, this training will give clinicians the tools needed to identify barriers that may prevent restorative sleep and ways of facilitating sleep to create a biological sleep schedule appropriate for each child's age and family goals.
Following this presentation, participants will be able to:
• Identify concerns around sleep
• Develop approaches to facilitate sleep and address sleep issues
• Articulate the benefits of sleep and understand the science regarding sleep issues for children ages newborn – 6 years
