Street Drug Awareness

Description

Title: Street Drug Awareness

Street Drug Awareness addressing the four major street drugs, Cannabis, Cocaine, Heroin (fentanyl), and Methamphetamine, one may come across during the course of their day. We will begin with an overview of the new Cannabis laws in order to familiarize the attendee with the law so they will know what is legal and what is not. Each drug is then broke down individually with the goal of the attending being able to do the following:
o Identify each drug by appearance
o Identify packaging, paraphernalia and other items which are indicative of drug use in the home.
o Observe and identify different drug related hazards that exist in the home (What’s going to hurt you and what’s not)
o Be aware of the common physical effects of each drug which may indicate the person they are dealing with is high.
o And if so, tips on how to address and/speak with those individuals (some may turn violent, know when to get out)

The presentation will then address other drugs such as ecstasy, LSD, Molly, and prescription drugs. Attendees will be given a brief overview and shown examples of each so they can identify the appearance and associated paraphernalia in order raise their awareness of possible drug use in the home.
