Making best practice practical: The role of routines in early intervention

Description

Are you an EI provider working to provide PT supports in natural environments? Do you have questions about how to engage children and families in the early intervention process? This session will highlight how the use of everyday routines and activities can jump start your practice with infants and young children. We will be reviewing some DEC Recommended practices for early intervention, discussing how this knowledge can be translated into physical therapy practice, and looking at examples of the impact of routines-based intervention on dosage, child learning, and helping children meet functional outcomes in early intervention.
