Unraveling the Mystery of AAC: Matching Systems to Needs

Description

We will continue to “Unravel the Mystery of AAC” in part 3 of this series. During part one and two of the series, participants explored everyone’s right to communicate and tools to help work through the consideration process of AAC. During those sessions, participants identified communication and AAC feature needs. The next step is to match needs and AAC systems. The best practice in AAC evaluation includes consideration of various language and AAC systems, followed by a trial (or trials) of a best fit or match. The feature match will you help you select a device (or devices) to trial. Join us to learn what PRC-Saltillo offers with hands-on experience. Participants will learn about trial programs, education opportunities, support resources, and so much more. Our consultants will guide you every step of the way!

Learning Outcomes:
Participants will be able to:
• Participants will describe features available on AAC systems.
• Participants will apply information collected during the consideration process to prioritize features that match the needs of the individual.
• Participants will list two possible AAC systems that include the features identified in the case study.
