Medical Diagnostic Assessments in Early Intervention

Description

This training will give participants an understanding of how and why medical diagnostics assessments became part of the Early Intervention. It will help participants gain a better understanding of what might be expected in seeking a medical diagnostic, and how a medical diagnostic may benefit a family. We will discuss when a diagnostic might or might not be beneficial, and the possible service provision impact of a child receiving a "medical' diagnosis. we will also discuss how some typical diagnostics take place, so that EI providers may gain a clearer picture of expectations for the actual experience a family may encounter when pursuing a diagnostic.
