Description |
This training introduces new service coordinators to the Routines Based Interview (RBI). It is presented as the family assessment used in Illinois to understand families' resources, priorities and concerns related to their child's development. The RBI allows for a rich discussion about the child's day in the context of their family, which helps develop a comprehensive Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). This training offers strategies to complete both the ASQ-SE and RBI in the context of the intake and evaluation process. The importance of including providers in the RBI process is addressed as a way to help create IFSPs that highlight families' perspectives on strengths and challenge. Finally, we strategize about serving children and families with social emotional issues. Case Examples and Service Coordinator to Service Coordinator discussion is utilized.
