I/ECMHC Orientation: Building Relationships and Collaboratively Engaging with Families

This workshop will focus on teacher and staff relationships with parents. The importance of partnering with parents will be highlighted. We will address how consultants are in a unique position to support site collaboration with parents. A space will be provided for consultants to discuss their experiences with barriers to forming good working relationships with parents. We will highlight the importance of self-awareness and empathy in building positive relationships with parents/caregivers and staff and will share specific strategies staff can use to connect with parents and caregivers.
