This workshop will focus on the process of Observation, Screening, Assessment and Strategizing in a manner that creates opportunities for involvement with those individuals who have significant relationships with the child. Participants will be provided with a process that includes observation of the child or behavior that raises concern and that stresses the importance of acknowledging the perspective of the primary caregiver(s) prior to administering any formal screening or assessment tool. Finally, participants will be asked to reflect on how they can enhance their own work in consideration of the process described.
