This presentation will be an introduction to Infant Mental Health theory and practice principles. We will begin with defining Infant Mental health and move into the theoretical foundations on which infant mental health is built. We will review the foundational concepts of an infant mental health approach to working with infants, young children, and families. We will discuss the basic beliefs of infant mental health and the services provided by an infant mental health informed practitioner. We will also review the skills and strategies used by the infant mental health practitioner when working with families.
