Addressing the Social Emotional Issues Arising from the Pandemic

Description

The work of Service Coordinators is at core a role that is based on crafting successful interactions with caregivers and EI providers serving the families in their communities. Social and emotional/psychological issues are endemic to the area of early intervention and therefore Service Coordinators must become fluent in identifying and responding to these issues. The importance of identifying these issues with parents has become even more important across the past year. The COVID pandemic has relentlessly stressed everyone. Service Coordinators provide an important first line to assist parents in identifying challenges and connecting with appropriate resources. This workshop will utilize a reflective case consultation format with a small group of Service Coordinators (5-10) to support them in developing the necessary skill sets for performing this critical function of their job.
