This presentation will help participants understand GERD-like symptoms in infants and distinguish GERD-like symptoms from GER and GERD. It will also describe the symptoms of dysphagia and colic and the role of therapy to address these conditions. Research will be reviewed on an approach involving physician, speech language pathologist, and occupational therapist that has effectively replaced the standard management of GERD-like symptoms by reassigning infants for evaluation of dysphagia (and in particular aerophagia) and/or unsettledness/colic.
