Compassion Fatigue and Strategies to Minimize it

Description

In fields where professionals are directly helping others and supporting them with their life stress, there can be an impact of fatigue. It is different than feeling tired or wanting a break. It is the emotional "burden" and weight of holding the emotions and challenges of others. Inevitably they feel stressed and that can get transferred to the professional if they are not intentional about getting their own support and finding strategies for being responsive and caring and not overwhelmed by the intensity of the emotions and experiences. This workshop will describe this experience and how it is common in the professional "helping" field.
