Anti Bias Education: A Tool to Strengthen Early Childhood Mental Health and Wellbeing

Description

Our children experience fear, anxiety, confusion, and other peace-breaking emotions. When these feelings go unnoticed, they fester and grow, impeding children’s ability to have authentic, joyful early childhood experiences that lead to long and productive lives. Essentially, our children need their families, teachers, communities, and support systems to lean into deep and meaningful ways to strengthen their emotional and mental wellbeing. We must ensure that their early care and education experiences are not embedded with biases and oppressive practices but are intentionally designed to help every child thrive!
The Conference on Anti-Bias Early Care and Education is an intentional forum for anyone and everyone with a stake in the success of children in their earliest years. We’ll bring together thought-leaders, care and service providers, family and community members, and impact makers for a morning of learning about the nuts-and-bolts of anti-bias early care and education. Participants will leave with “Try Now” ideas to strengthen their work with children and families, their parenting practices and/or their community participation to help make every early learning classroom one that is anti-biased in every way.
