The Role of Occupational Therapy Services for Infants and Toddlers in Early Intervention

Description

This course will guide the participants in better understanding Occupational Therapy's role in the Early Intervention system in an effort to decrease misunderstandings and support confidence in referrals to an OT practitioner. During this presentation, participants will learn what is considered an occupation for birth to 3 years old, understand the scope of occupational therapy interventions, and become aware of occupational therapy's history and future. Common diagnoses and referral questions will be presented to help guide the listener in understanding when an OT referral is appropriate. Video examples will also be given to help enhance learning.
