Cortical/Cerebral Visual Impairment: Serving the Whole Child, Every Child

Description

Tools and assessments are helping to identify the children with CVI in greater numbers. CVI continues to be the major cause of pediatric visual impairment in the United States impacting children’s abilities to visually attend and visually recognize their world. With that building knowledge of the causes, manifestations and the educational impact of CVI, we need to have the most current and researched- based information for understanding how different children, with different brain involvement and with different capacity for neuroplasticity can be identified, assessed and served in order to provide the greatest accessible learning.
