Description |
Patient or Family Centered care is a concept in modern medicine focusing on patient, familial and societal needs in tandem with medical care rather than a “problem-solution” approach. Even though young children lack the ability to provide self-care and require the guidance of family, often times the implementation of family centered techniques are secondary to technical and clinical skills. This presentation will review the aspects of family centered care in audiology, present the ethics behind these concepts and offer resources for clinical development.
