Babies Move Too: Understanding and Addressing Praxis in Infants

Description

Praxis skills in children develop over the first eight years of life. Most importantly, the foundations and infrastructure of praxis abilities develop in the first two years. Sensory processing, postural mechanisms, reflex development, exploratory play and more goes into developing an infant’s ideational and motor planning abilities. This course will explore the foundations of development of praxis in infants, discuss key observations of possible challenges to praxis development and provide key intervention strategies for use with infants during the first two years of life. The course will utilize lectures, case studies, and video re-view. Ample time will be provided for participant questions.

*This is a two day training event and participants must attend both days in order to receive ANY IL EI credits.
