This presentation will provide an overview of physical therapy practice in early intervention under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA). Physical therapist in early intervention must understand federal and state laws, apply early intervention philosophies, demonstrate cultural sensitivity, and collaborate as a team member to serve infants and toddlers and their families. This session is designed for students, new professionals, and therapists new or transitioning into this area of practice. Participants will gain a broad understanding of early intervention through delivery of best practice information and case examples.
