Sensory Processing & Integration: How to Meet the Needs of Children

Description

In this webinar, therapists will learn how to distinguish what is "sensory" through a clear understanding of the sensory system.

We'll take a look at the early research, comparing it to more recent studies and how it applies to the child's and family's occupations. Revitalizing the understanding of how we process information, this webinar will help therapists explain how and why the child responds to sensory stimuli in way that is easily understood. This will assist families help meet their child's developmental needs, participate in family activities and understand how their child learns and engages for lifelong independence.

Through teaching families and team members how to discern sensory responses encourages communication so that they look at the child's specific needs, strengths and responses, and helps the team collaborate and develop goals that not only help the child, but also work within the framework of the family.

This webinar will provide therapists with resources that will help them carry out sensory related goals and strategies with confidence and quality of care expected by families and team members.
