This training will give participants an understanding of how and why medical diagnostics assessments became part of the Early Intervention. It will help participants gain a better understanding of what might be expected in seeking a medical diagnostic, and how a medical diagnostic helps inform support for a child. We will discuss when a diagnostic might or might not be beneficial, and the possible service provision impact of a child receiving a "medical' diagnosis. we will also discuss how some typical diagnostics take place. Two complex diagnostic cases will be presented to deepen and highlight the understanding of the process.
